The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) is pleased to announce the successful completion and closeout of the Proposition 1 Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Disadvantaged Community and Tribal Involvement (DACTI) Grant Program.
Over the course of the DACTI Program (Program), DWR awarded more than $51 million across the 12 Funding Areas identified in Proposition 1. These investments helped strengthen outreach, engagement, and participation in IRWM planning, ensuring that the water management needs and priorities of historically underrepresented communities were more effectively incorporated into regional decision-making processes. Individual Funding Area Needs Assessments developed through the Program are available on the Program webpage.
To document the Program’s accomplishments and outcomes, DWR has prepared a summary report, Understanding the Water Needs of Underrepresented Californians Through Integrated Regional Water Management. This report highlights the Program’s major achievements, key findings, and lessons learned, providing valuable insights that can help inform future efforts to support inclusive and equitable water management planning throughout California.
