NOW AVAILABLE: Final Independent Peer Review Report for the Hydrologic Engineering Center Reservoir Simulation Water Temperature Model

At the request of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the Delta Science Program has completed facilitating an independent scientific peer review of the Hydrologic Engineering Center Reservoir Simulation (HEC ResSim) as a water temperature model.

This review’s purpose was to constructively provide Reclamation with recommendations to improve HEC ResSim as a reservoir temperature simulation model. A successful application of this platform could be capable of providing water temperature predictions and potentially assist resource managers of major Central Valley Project reservoirs with balancing water resources and downstream needs. The final document is a collaborative report between the four panel members, who are subject matter experts in modeling, hydrology, and water quality.

The final report is available on this page.
