From the State Water Resources Control Board:
On January 30, 2023, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) filed petitions for temporary urgency change (TUCPs) for water right License 1986 and Permits 11885, 11886, and 11887 pursuant to Water Code section 1435 et seq.
With the TUCPs, Reclamation seeks to divert or redivert water bypassed at the Friant Dam and/or stored in Millerton Lake that must be released or bypassed by Friant Dam due to flood operations. The water will be for delivery to wildlife refuges and to conduct groundwater recharge by water users within the existing place of use of License 1986 and Permits 11885, 11886, and 11887.
