From the Delta Science Program:
At the request of the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), the Delta Science Program has completed facilitating an independent scientific peer review of the Healthy Rivers and Landscapes (HRL) Science Plan. The HRL Program is proposed as an alternative method for implementing Sacramento River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and tributary updates to the Bay-Delta Plan.
This review’s purpose was to constructively provide recommendations for improving the HRL Science Plan. The review considered how the Science Plan’s hypotheses, metrics, modeling and monitoring resources, identified information gaps, and adaptive management resources will support the development of system-specific science plans.
The final document consists of three independent letters from the reviewers, who are subject matter experts in fisheries, structured decision-making, and monitoring evaluations.
