ANNOUNCEMENT: Just Transitions in the Delta: Reimagine what’s possible at a June 11th workshop

Workshop announcement

The Just Transitions in the Delta Project team is hosting their first public workshop on Tuesday, June 11th, at The Big Break Visitors Center near Oakley.

The Just Transitions project is exploring adaptive strategies to pressing challenges in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, including sea level rise, drought, and salinity management, using a public-facing scenario planning process. At this first workshop, the team will present the results of interviews and surveys conducted with a diverse range of communities and experts. They will also introduce and seek public input on a first round of potential future adaptation scenarios based on the interviews.

Feedback received at this workshop will be used to further refine and model the scenarios, which will be presented at future workshops.

The June 11th workshop will be from 9am-1pm (lunch and refreshments served), followed by an open gallery from 1-5pm. You can register for the workshop here.

The Just Transitions multi-year project is made possible through the University of California’s Multicampus Research Programs and Initiatives to support collaborative research projects that promote innovative research with significant importance to the state of California, its people, its environment and economy.
