The next Water Energy Education Alliance (WEEA) Leadership Roundtable Meeting #14 will be held on Tuesday, March 28, from 9 AM to 12 PM.
WEEA is excited to welcome back the Centers of Excellence for Labor Market Research (COE), who will unveil the final statewide water and wastewater workforce needs report that has been under construction for the past 15 months. This is an exclusive report preview for WEEA participants with the COE research team. It is a unique opportunity to ask clarifying questions about their methodology and gain insight into their recommendations. We strongly encourage leadership from community colleges and industry HR representatives, communications staff, and hiring managers to attend.
We’ve long discussed the looming challenges of the “Silver Tsunami,” including an aging workforce, lack of workplace diversity, technical training and skill gaps, and a general lack of career awareness. Our discussion will address these issues and more for eight mission-critical occupations that are essential to water and wastewater operations and are challenging to fill.
Immediately following the presentation, we will break out into facilitated regional discussion groups to determine ways to use the information provided in the report to our advantage. To ensure a productive discussion, please come prepared to participate.
