From the State Water Resources Control Board:
The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), in consultation with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) and the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board, is considering recommending that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) approve an aquifer exemption for the Holser-Nuevo Zone of the Modelo Formation, Holser Oil Field, in Ventura County.
A public hearing on the Holser Aquifer Exemption proposal will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 5:30 pm.
The hearing will be held virtually via Zoom and will consist of a presentation on the Aquifer Exemption process and the proposed exemption of the oil-bearing portions of the Holser Aquifer from provisions of the Clean Water Act. Attendees will then have an opportunity to submit verbal comments on the proposed exemption.
