NOTICE: Petition for Temporary Transfer of Water under Oakdale Irrigation District and South San Joaquin Irrigation District License 2012

From the State Water Board:

On June 21, 2021, Oakdale Irrigation District (OID) and South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) filed a petition for temporary change with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) to transfer up to 100,000 acre-feet of water pursuant to Water Code section 1725 et seq.  With the petition, OID and SSJID request to add a point of rediversion and a place of use to License 2012 (Application 1081) to facilitate a transfer of water to the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority.

Temporary changes approved pursuant to Water Code section 1725 may be effective for up to one year. 

The transfer is proposed to occur between July 1 and September 30, 2021.  A link to the petition submittal is available on the State Water Board’s website at: 2021 Notices.   

The 30-day comment period per Water Code section 1726(f) has been reduced to 15 days per the Governor’s Proclamation of a State of Emergency in the Klamath River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and Tulare Lake Watershed Counties due to drought (Drought Proclamation) dated May 10, 2021.  This Drought Proclamation will help expedite processing of water transfers.  Comments filed in response to this notice must be received by 4:30 p.m. on July 16, 2021.
