NOW AVAILABLE: Geologic Analysis, Ventura River Watershed

From the State Water Resources Control Board:

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is releasing a memorandum summarizing the geologic analysis completed for the Ventura River Watershed (Geologic Analysis). The Geologic Analysis incorporates technical feedback received on the State Water Board’s Draft Geologic Analysis, Ventura River Watershed. The Geologic Analysis will inform the Ventura River watershed surface water-groundwater and nitrogen transport modeling tools, under development by the State Water Board and Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board. The Geologic Analysis is available below or online at: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/instream_flows/cwap_enhancing/docs/vrw_ga_final.pdf.

Additional information on the modeling tools is available in the Final Study Plan for the Development of Groundwater-Surface Water and Nutrient Models of the Ventura River Watershed (Study Plan). The Geologic Analysis will be used in conjunction with information described in the Study Plan to assign three-dimensional model layer geometry, initial model hydraulic properties (e.g., hydraulic conductivity), and the presence of boundary conditions. The Study Plan is available online at: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/instream_flows/cwa p_enhancing/docs/vrw_sp_final.pdf.
