Proposition 68 was passed by voters in June 2018. The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) will administer $74 million from Chapter 11.1 for grants for treatment and remediation activities that prevent or reduce the contamination of groundwater that serves as a source of drinking water.
Division of Financial Assistance (DFA) staff have drafted the Proposition 68 Groundwater Treatment and Remediation Grant Program Guidelines.
DFA staff will conduct three public meetings in June 2019 to receive oral comments on the draft. After reviewing written comments and input from the public meetings, an updated version will be presented to the State Water Board for consideration of adoption in August 2019. Please access the Public Notice for additional information regarding these events and how to submit written comments.
