STATEWIDE MERCURY CONTROL PROGRAM: Responses to scientific peer review posted on website for Statewide Mercury Control Program for Reservoirs

From the State Water Board:

The website for the Statewide Mercury Control Program for Reservoirs has been updated. The external scientific peer review comment letters and staff responses to the peer reviews are available to download. The website is here: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/water_issues/programs/mercury/reservoirs/

These documents are provided as a courtesy to stakeholders. Please note that no written public comments will be accepted on these documents at this time.

Outreach efforts for this project will remain focused on owners and operators of mercury-impaired reservoirs for at least the next six months. The intent of this focused outreach is to encourage coordinated water chemistry and fisheries management pilot tests in a small subset of mercury-impaired reservoirs.

A formal notice will be provided to the public, likely in mid-2019 at the earliest, with information about general stakeholder meetings and the public review period along with release of documents for review and comments, including proposed Mercury Reservoir Provisions, Staff Report, and other relevant supporting documents.

Please contact mercuryproject@waterboards.ca.gov if you have any questions.
